Resolution is the phase of an encounter in which the encounter's outcome is acted upon. Ships on the losing side are sent to the warp and winning ships either return home or claim colonies (depending on which main player won), or, if a deal was made, the terms of the deal are carried out. Encounter cards played during the encounter are then discarded.
Various aliens have powers that take effect during Resolution.
