Cosmic Novas was a planned expansion set for the Mayfair (1991) edition of Cosmic Encounter. It was never released, likely due to Mayfair Games' temporary shutdown in 1997.

Cosmic Novas was going to contain Nova cards. Based on the expansion's name, it likely would have contained one Nova for each alien in Mayfair's Cosmic Encounter base set and More Cosmic Encounter expansion.
A separate expansion, Even More Cosmic Encounter, was planned to contain new aliens along with their corresponding Nova and Flare cards, but this expansion was also never released.
