Cosmic Encounter Duel is a spinoff game in the Cosmic Encounter universe, released in 2020 by Fantasy Flight Games. It is a two-player game in which players take the roles of alien races and try to capture enough planets to secure their position in the Cosmic Citizenship Council.
Gameplay is somewhat similar to the main Cosmic Encounter game, but with a number of changes to adapt the mechanics for two-player gameplay. The game features 27 all-new playable aliens with powers specially designed for two-player play. In addition, 18 aliens from the main series return, with their original powers, as "envoys" that players can form alliances with.
