As the defense, after encounter cards are selected but before they are revealed, you may look at your opponent's card without showing it to others. Then, both main players return their encounter cards to their hands and select again (choosing the same cards or different ones).

When adding a token to your alien sheet, you may add two instead of one.

AI is an alien with a spying ability that quickly grows stronger. The AI gains a token on every player's turn, with each token granting the right to "peek" at the top cards of any deck, other players' hands, unrevealed elements of other aliens' powers, and more. With no conventional method of removing these tokens, the AI's well-informed rampage can become difficult to stop once entrenched.

Strategy[]

As AI[]

The degree and scope of your foresight will improve quickly as the game progresses - especially in matches with five or six players - but you will only be able to use it as a main player. You may wish to avoid the temptation of checking out the top of the draw deck, which will change often and can't easily be manipulated, and instead focus early on the long game: make sure you know all hidden facets of your enemies' powers, explore the hands of players trying to collect powerful cards (particularly your opponent), and locate any flares that appear. The AI's knowledge is a powerful tool for leverage - you can share freely any information that will help your allies get ahead, or lie to bait them into a deadly mistake.

Edition Power Text History
CE You have the power to Think Ahead. At the start of every player's turn, add one token to this sheet.
As a main player, before allies are invited, you may use this power to look at a number of hidden elements up to the number of tokens on this sheet. The hidden elements you can inspect are cards in players' hands, cards on the tops of decks or sets of essence cards (e.g., the top three cards from one deck, or three top cards from different decks), hidden alien powers, and facedown cards hidden by players (for example, in the Miser's hoard or any essence cache).
These tokens accumulate and are not "spent" when you use your power.
After a modest beginning as a programmable calculator, the AI had a sudden growth spurt after it learned how to replicate itself. Soon, the AI dominated all inferior intelligences. Now bored, the AI is sending copies of itself into the Cosmos hoping to find and envelop new types of intelligence.
